World Mental Health Day 2026: Looking Back on a Week of Well-Being
Four Workshops to Kick Things Off
The activity week kicked off on October 10, World Mental Health Day, with four workshops organized by the ZHS. Under the titles Dance & Mental Health, Emotional Resilience, From Stress to Calm, and Mindful Climbing, participants explored different ways to enhance their well-being, manage stress, and discover the connection between physical activity and mental health.
Small Actions, Big Impact
Throughout the week, two interactive activities invited participants to pause for a moment and reflect on their own mental health.
As part of the stone activity, students and staff had the opportunity to reflect on their current mental well-being and make their thoughts visible by placing stones representing their responses into glass vases. The statement selected most frequently was: “I have people who support me when I’m not feeling well.” The result highlights the importance of social support for our well-being—and how valuable it is to have people by our side whom we can rely on.
The interactive tree also invited everyone to get involved. Participants could add a note describing what they had done that day to support their mental health. Whether it was exercising, taking a mindful break, or talking to others, the activity highlighted the many different ways we can do something good for ourselves.
How Are TUM Students Doing?
Together with TUM4Health, the ZHS also presented a poster walk featuring findings from the 2024 TUM4Health survey, “How Are TUM Students Doing?” The posters offered fascinating insights into the health and well-being of TUM students and encouraged visitors to reflect on the challenges and needs associated with everyday student life.
