Largest beach volleyball facility in Bavaria opened

After nine month of construction work the time has come: Since June 1, 2017 you can play on the new beach volleyball courts of the TUM beach and tennis facility.

Thus, the beach volleyball facility is the largest in Bavaria so far! The courts are located on the grounds of the TUM Tennis Center - between the TUM Campus im Olympiapark and the BMW Welt - where they replace discarded and untapped tennis courts as well as the old golf short play facilities.

It will take place on June 14, 2017 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. in combination with the tournament day of the sports students („Turniertag der Sportstudierenden“). On the Open Day, all beach volleyball courts can be tested for free. From 3 p.m. onwards, at some of the courts the tournament day takes place, while the other courts still can be used for free. Traditionally, on this day the students of the department sports and health of the TU Munich will have a barbecue and sell drinks at the facility.

In the following months until October 8, the facilities are opened from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. everyday. Courts can be booked online via The charges fort he rent of courts varies between 8 € and 20 € and depend on the status of the players and the time of day: Guest players are welcomed!

In the middle of July there will be an exception to the normal games: The German university championship beach volleyball takes place on the newly built courts from 10th until 12th of July. This championship gives a feeling and is the dress rehearsal for World University Championship next year (WUC Beachvolleyball 2018).
